There isn't much to do in Cainta. It is primarily a residential area with lots of gated communities and a slew of malls. It was 50 years back, a farm land mostly. Later became an industrial town for most American (Sterling/Winthrop Pharma) and Japanese (Mitsubishi Motors, Panasonic) companies. It has a 60's era golf club Valley Golf which used to be the habitue of expats working in and around Cainta area. It has a bit of English/Indian history due to the fact that Indian Sepoys stationed in Manila during the Anglo-Spanish War deserted commands and settled in Cainta, hence some locals resemble Indian/South Asian features. One thing you'll enjoy much at Cainta are the rice cakes (Bibingka in Tagalog, Bebinca in India) and rice muffins (Puto). Another touch of Indian culture that got embedded into local cuisine.
