Blackheath offered many mountain walks with breathtaking views such as Evans Lookout, the Walls Cave trail. There was a great selection of restuarants to dine in or take away. Quiet and friendly little town. Easy to get around either hire car, bus or foot.
One awesome walk was the Grand Canyon. You need to be very fit to do it as theres lots of steps but its worth it. Also Hargraves lookout had great views and you can just drive to it. I went to the Rhododendron gardens, but unless its in flower dont bother with it. The local pub has some good lunches and a nice atmosphere. Views of the mountains are spectacular at sunset. Blackheath has allot of history and atmosphere.
We had a brilliant weekend, see and George the owners are lovely. The place was beautiful, clean, comphy bed and the breakfast was of a high standard. See drove us to the points to start our walks, into the village for supplies and also to train station when leaving. We were offered a late check out leaving which time we wanted which was really nice. I was really sad to be leaving today 2x nights wasn't long enough but hope to be back soon. Thank you for a great stay.
Blackheath is much less crowded than Katoomba, but it has a lot of attractions, and hiking trails of all degrees of difficulty. The Grand Canyon simply is a must, but there is also Govett's Leap which goes down into the valley. After the tour, one finds good bars and restaurants, for example Gardner's Inn, that Charles Darwin seems to have visited in 1836. The whole atmosphere remains down-to-Earth, and is really appealing.
Blackheath is a wonderful place to visit. There is an array of interesting houses surrounded by many trees and lovely gardens. A variety of walks are available around Blackheath. There are many restaurants and cafes to check out. Not far away are Katoomba and Leura, both interesting places to visit and only a short train or bus ride away.
Blackheath is a lovely spot in the fabulous Blue Mountains. It has a nice village atmosphere with a good choice of cafes and eateries. A car is useful for getting around Blackheath as the interesting places aren't so close to each other. The weather is variable but the air is crisp. This is a great time of year to visit the mountains as it is not too cold and the spring flowers are out. We stopped off at Echo Pt Katoomba and spent a bit more time at Leura, which is quite trendy but very pretty.

The heated pool that was open 24hrs. We loved the grounds and the location. The cabins are spacious. We got to the property at around 5pm and left 7am the next day. We wanted to stay a little longer because the kids were just enjoying the tennis court, swings and the wide grounds. We will definitely come back and we highly recommend the place. We were 13 in all and we got 2 cabins that were adjacent to each other. Thumbs up to the place!!

The cottage was refurbished nicely. When we first arrived at the cottage, we were in awe of the ambiance of the house. It is modern but decorated well with antiques. Fireplace kept us warm while we hung out in the lounge area. Also, everything was spotless and amenities are provided so we enjoyed cooking our dinner in the cottage. There are also plenty of board games provided. Definitely would come again.

I had a comfortable stay and the staff was helpful and pleasant. Upstairs in the hotel side everything was clean and tidy. Lovely veranda. The pub is obviously an 'old town pub', ok over all and as per location, perfect! The food at the bistro is lovely and the kitchen people very friendly and helpful. I'd stayed an extra night and would come back.

Would recommend to friends and stay here again.
